R134a is an HFC refrigerant replacement for R12. It is the global standard for new mobile air conditioning and can also be used to retrofit existing R12 mobile air conditioning systems.

R134a is also used in new medium- and high-temperature stationary commercial refrigeration, as well as chiller systems and home appliances. In addition, it can be used to retrofit existing R-12 refrigeration and air conditioning systems.

R134a is also used as cleaning agents, foam blowing agents and propellant. Replaces R12.
